Engine meets frame.

To my surprise the engine slipped right in the frame. I was prepared to cut away the whole lower engine cradle and redo the lower mounts. And I even found a fitting engine mounting plate.
For the rear axle I have fabricated insert sleeves that are pressed into the engine cases to reduce the diameter in order to fit the smaller axle.

There will however be some creative thinking needed when it comes to the carb and air box...

Deconstruction.

The frame is originally a 1984 WR 125. It has been stored outside leaned against a tree for some time..

Major corrosion on the fork legs

Some spiders had made a nice home in the air box..

Husqvarna TC 610 engine rebuild.

Since the original 570cc 1984 liquid cooled engine was custom built by BKS and never actually produced by Husqvarna an original motor is almost impossible to find.
This is a 2000 TC 610 engine that will have to do.

Engine cases thoroughly cleaned.

New SKF bearings fitted

Athena seal kit(Same as OEM)

New Wiseco piston fitted.

4 speed TC gearbox replaced with a TE 6-speed so the bike won't be limited to the MX track.

Cam chain replaced.

New gasket kit from Athena

All valves replaced with one piece stainless from G&S valves UK.
Valve seats recut by JPM Helsingborg.

New camshaft bearings fitted

New adjusting screws for the valves.

The next step. 1984 Husqvarna 570 LC

Picture above is Bengt Karlström posing with his water cooled Husky four stroke back in 1984.
My next project will be a replica of this unique bike.

1984 donor bike in pretty bad condition, but I think it can be done.

This is what started the build. I got hold of the hand welded aluminum tank that Bengt used back in the day.

1969 Husqvarna 400 Works tank painting

Some dents filled, Tank sides polished and masked.

I chose Porsche signal orange from the 70s

The tank is sanded down to a non gloss finish and NOS Husqvarna decals are used.

Next step is to send it back to the painter for clear coat.
